It's Brad Burgundy! Country star Paisley does his best Anchorman impersonation on Good Morning America

He is the country singer renowned for his wacky sense of humour.

And Brad Paisley underlined his sense of fun again after dressing up as a cowboy Ron Burgundy on Good Morning America on Monday.

The
jolly father-of-two topped off the look by sticking on a fake moustache
as he served as co-host for the day on the popular New York based ABC
show.

The 40-year-old looked the
spitting image of a cowboy version of Will Ferrell's cult favourite
comedy character, who is making a comeback this year in Anchorman: The
Legend Continues.

With
Ron's trademark suit, a similar striped tie and his ten-gallon hat, he
could have easily as his Texan cousin in the picture, which is released
in December.

He used his stint as a platform to promote his new album: 'We decided not to respect boundaries.

'We
thought, anything that sort of helps tell the story and I guess be
entertaining, we felt like it was time to incorporate it, whatever it
may be. We really had fun.'

But it was not the only wacky outfit the funster wore on the day.

For
he turned up to the show wearing a white dressing gown and pyjama
bottoms, no doubt coming straight over from his hotel room.

Missing a trick: No doubt Will Ferrell would have cast him as his Texan cousin if he saw the Brad before casting Anchorman: The Legend Continues

The notorious prankster's love
of practical jokes came back to bite him when an eighth grade schoolgirl
named Kayla Jayne interviewed him on a morning radio show last month.

It started off normally enough with the girl asking him who taught him to play guitar.

And after he explained it was it was his grandfather she followed up wit a slightly more probing enquiry.

She said: 'How much money did you make last year before and after taxes?'

Ever the wit however Brad replied: Thanks for that great question.

'Before taxes I made about $250 million… after taxes about $35,000.'
