The sun has arrived! Catherine Tyldesley brightens proceedings at the British Animal Honours in a radiant yellow dress

The skies of England may still be
overcast, but the sun was out on Thursday night thanks to a bright
appearance by Catherine Tyldesley.

The
Coronation Street star arrived in fifties vintage style to the British
Animal Honours wearing a yellow lace dress by Azagury.

And with her hair pulled back into a retro updo, Catherine certainly pulled off the Doris Day look she wanted.

The actress tweeted a picture
of her outfit before setting off for the awards show: 'Loving my
#azagury dress #animalhonours #dorisday :-) (sic)'.

Catherine finished off the outfit with some simple nude court shoes and a rose pink lip colour.

Joining her at the event was co-star, Paula Lane, who also looked to the past decades for style insipiration.

The Corrie actresses and travelled down to London together for the event at Elstree Studios.

Catherine
and Paula - who play Eva Price and Kylie Pratt in the long-running ITV1
soap - rubbed shoulders with a number of other British TV
personalities.

Harry
Potter star, Rupert Grint arrived in romantic fashion, wearing a heart
design T-shirt with a blazer jeans and dirty Converse trainers.

However,
Ashleigh Butler's outfit was far less grungy, choosing a cream babydoll
dress that complemented her talented dog Pudsey's shaggy coat.

Dame
Kelly Holme showcased looked chic in a floral print shift dress, but
her make-up looked a little heavy duty thanks to an abundance of black
eyeshadow.

Kate Garraway's simple teal
number and Arlene Phillips' floral dress may have looked completely
different but they similarly gave each wearer a stylishly dignified air.

And
Anita Dobson and Brian May proved they were as loved up as ever,
holding each other close as they attended the event at Elstree studios.

The
awards event is presented by Paul O'Grady and celebrates Britain’s most
extraordinary animals and the people who dedicate their lives to them.

The show will broadcast Thursday 18th April at 8pm on ITV.
